We're a mutual
We're a mutual and are proud to be so. Mutuals are entirely focused on their members and will always act in their best interests. As a not-for-profit organisation, with no shareholders, we prioritise our members' interests over maximising profits, reinvesting surplus income back into the business to enhance our services. We actively engage with our members to shape how we operate, ensuring their voices are heard.

How we're run
- As a Benenden Health member, you're part of a community of members in your area, your Benenden Health Community. We have 19 Communities across the UK.
- Each Community is managed by a group of volunteers and their role is to engage with their fellow members, ensuring members are kept informed and can share their views.
Our Board of Directors have a responsibility to make decisions in the best interest of our members.
The Board sets the strategic direction of the society ensuring the culture is aligned with its purpose and values.
The board is comprised of six Independent Non-executive Directors (including the chairman) six Branch-nominated Non-executive Directors and two Executive Directors, who are senior employees of Benenden Health.
Our Annual Report is published every year and details our strategic report and financial statements.
We're governed by our rulebook, and any changes to it need to be agreed by our members at our Annual Conference.
