Last Thursday colleagues from across the business joined a number of organisations from around the York area at the annual York Cares Golden Moments Awards.
These awards highlighted the good work done by local businesses over the year in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility and community work.
BBC Radio York presenter, Elly Fiorentini, hosted the evening, interviewing volunteers about the work they’d done to support people and community projects across the city, with awards presented by Joe Micheli , Head of Commissioning (Early Intervention, Prevention & Community Development) from the City of York Council.
We were delighted to win a Golden Moments Award for Best Team Challenge, in which the IT Department ( plus Bob Andrews, Liz Mullinger and Margaret Joicey) fantastically transformed West Bank Park in Acomb earlier this year, making the park a more pleasant place to walk local families and dog walkers.
Final award was for our delivery of the Aspirational Programme Project Dare, to over 20 secondary school pupils from around York. The project had the double aim of motivating teens to aim higher and work harder in school while at the same time, raising awareness of mental health
Thank you to everyone who was involved and took part in these projects. We look forward to more York Cares challenges over the coming months.
