Benenden Health's mission to help improve the nation's health

Benenden Health, the leading not-for-profit healthcare provider, is on a mission to help improve the nation’s health as it launches a new TV campaign to demonstrate how quality healthcare is available to all.

The provider, which has been supporting communities with healthcare provision for more than 100 years, is spearheading a new drive to ensure its members and the NHS are supported, with a range of services available from out of hours GP access to diagnostic testing.

As part of its mission to invest in the nation’s health, the not-for-profit recently pledged a substantial donation to the Royal Brompton Hospital. This is funding a research assistant to investigate the cause and effect of COVID-19 and support the NHS in the long-term challenge caused by the pandemic. Benenden Health also pivoted its services to support members during the peak of the crisis, supporting patients with COVID-19-related issues through its 24/7 GP services, offering online wellbeing classes and mental health advice through its helpline, helping to alleviate pressure on the NHS.

Benenden Health was originally founded to provide treatment for people suffering from tuberculosis, before growing to now provide healthcare support for more than 800,000 members across the UK.

Its founding purpose was to help people join together to pay for medical care and be there for members - a message that is just as true today and is reflected in the organisation’s tag-line, ‘here for you, not for profit’, featured in the new TV campaign developed in partnership with McCann and production company Space.
