Benenden Health awarded Good Business Charter status

Healthcare provider recognised for adopting ethical and sustainable business practices.

Not-for-profit, affordable healthcare provider Benenden Health is now an accredited business under the Good Business Charter (GBC).

The GBC, which is open to all organisations in the UK, partners with the Trades Union Congress, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors in its recognition of responsible business practices.

The GBC states that not-for-profits must meet nine of its 10 key requirements for accreditation, including: providing a living wage, promoting employee wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, environmental responsibility and ethical resourcing.

Benenden Health bolster’s the city of York’s accreditation, which became the first-ever GBC city, along with other local businesses including the City of York Council, the University of York, Aviva, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The GBC accreditation follows other reputable awards given to Benenden Health including winning MoneyFact’s ‘Best Healthcare Service’ four consecutive years, as well as its ‘Best Private Medical Insurance Provider’ in 2022. In a 2022 survey, Benenden Health also found 4 out of 5 of its members would recommend the healthcare service to others.
