What is the Member Council?
The Member Council is a group of members (one representative for each Benenden Health Community) who meet every quarter to represent member views. They put member ideas forward to the Board and constructively challenge the Board on behalf of the members. The Member Council Representative also consults with their Benenden Health Community on Board proposals, gathering member views and feeding them back to the Board.
How you can feed ideas into the Member Council
If you have an idea for a new product or service, you'll be able to feed it into the Member Council via your Benenden Health Community Representative. They'll discuss your idea with you, carry out research and, if they think the idea could benefit our members, provide rationale to the Member Council.
How often do the Member Council meet?
The Member Council meet quarterly. Discussion will be focused on:
- The Society’s strategy and performance updates
- Proposed changes to our products and services.
- Suggestions from members.
- Topics of discussion at the Society’s Conference.
Who can join the Member Council?
The Member Council is chosen from the Benenden Health Community Representatives. Each Community nominates one of its Representatives to serve on the Member Council.
How the Member Council keep members updated
Member Council Representatives will give regular updates via the Member Meetups. Updates may also be included in other member communications such as Be Healthy or the Online Community.
