Cancer Advice Service

AVAILABLE AFTER SIX MONTHS OF MEMBERSHIP

There’s no sugarcoating how frightening a cancer diagnosis is. But a big part of that is fear of the unknown – which is why our dedicated care team are ready to answer any questions you have throughout your treatment. So whatever you’re facing, you won’t face it alone.

Getting the news of a cancer diagnosis can feel like your entire world’s been turned upside down.

Suddenly, your head is full of countless questions that you’ve never considered before. And not only do you not know what the answers are, you’re often not even sure what you should be asking in the first place.

We’re really proud of the difference our service can make to people affected by cancer. It’s designed to support with practical and emotional help – not replace the main guidance and treatment you’re getting, whether it’s from the NHS or a private consultant. Giving you the best possible chance of the best possible outcome.

Should you ever need to, you can call, message or email our dedicated team of experienced healthcare professionals. Because everyone’s experience with cancer is different, they’ll make sure their advice is tailored to your circumstances.

Here are some of the most common things they can help with:

  • Understanding your diagnosis and what it might mean for you.
  • Preparing questions ahead of a consultation, or discussing the consultation afterwards.
  • Emotional support and practical advice for all aspects of living with cancer, including going back to work when you’re ready.
  • Signposting to relevant NHS services and other organisations that can also help.
  • Spotting any gaps in the overall support you’re getting.

"Swift, friendly response. Helpful advice and I felt supported.

What could have been an anxious time was made a lot more bearable. Everything worked very smoothly and efficiently."

We can’t help if you’ve been diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma (a form of skin cancer). Usually there isn’t treatment or surgery required and generally everything is dealt with relatively quickly under the NHS.

And we can’t offer you this cancer patient support if we’ve already helped with a cancer in the same part of your body in the last 2 years.
